The Center for Economic Development is the host of the Northeastern California Small Business Development Center program.  Through its network of 6 service centers and lead center offices, the NEC SBDC program provides technical assistance to entrepreneurs and small business owners in 23 California counties through trainings and one-on-one business assistance.  

The NEC SBDC program is funded in part by the US Small Business Administration, State of California, and local public and private partners.  Our centers are hosted by Jefferson Economic Development Institute, California State University, Chico, Butte College, SacMetro Chamber of Commerce, Sierra Business Council, and San Joaquin Delta College.

Our mission is to create strong regional economies by supporting small businesses. Our offices provide pre-paid consulting and low or no-cost training to small businesses in 23 Northeastern California counties.

Competitive intelligence is defining, gathering, analyzing, and distributing intelligence about products, customers, competitors, and any aspect of the environment needed to support business owners and managers in making strategic decisions for their businesses.


You will be supplied with a list of your competitors, potential market opportunities, and other information that can help your business make educated strategic decisions. We can also provide maps of your potential customer base to enable you to make decisions about future expansion.
