Grants and Projects

The Center for Economic Development is working with its partners on a number of regional projects to address problems of economic distress in California communities. A short list of the larger projects include:

 

  • University Center Program

    • Funded by the U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration.
  • Northeastern California Broadband Project

    • Funded by the California Emerging Technology Fund and the McConnell Foundation.
    • Golden Sierra Broadband Project - funded by the California Emerging Technology Fund (CED is a subcontractor on this project).
    • Northern California WIRED Project - this project seeks to expand opportunities for entrepreneurial development.
  • Open for Business

    • This project profiles entrepreneurs to highlight how ideas can be transformed into businesses, and how obstacles can be overcome.
  • Economic Development On-line Community

    • Site will allow the target population of economic and community development professionals to assist their colleagues by providing a venue for peer-to-peer development.
