Grants and Projects

The Center for Economic Development is working its partners on a number of regional projects to address problems of economic distress in California communities.   A short list of the larger projects include:

 

  • University Center Program - funded by the U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration
  • Northeastern California Broadband Project - funded by the California Emerging Technology Fund and the McConnell Foundation
  • Golden Sierra Broadband Project - funded by the California Emerging Technology Fund.  (CED is a subcontractors on this project)
  • Northern California WIRED Project - this project seeks to expand opportunities for entrepreneurial development.
  • Open for Business - this project profiles entrepreneurs to highlight how ideas can be transformed into businesses, and obstacles overcome.
  • Economic Development On-line Community - site will allow the target population of economic and community development professionals assist their colleagues by providing a venue for peer-to-peer development.
